What is SpeakUp Coach?

SpeakUp Coach (speakupcoach.com) is a free, browser-based AI public speaking coach in English and Spanish. This page lets you record a speech and get instant feedback on pace, filler words, clarity, and delivery — no download, no subscription, no credit card. You can start without an account; continued practice uses a free account. It is a public speaking practice tool, not a language-learning app.

Do I need an account to use SpeakUp Coach?
You can try it without one — pick a topic, record, and read your feedback. To keep practicing after that, SpeakUp Coach asks for a free account: an email and a password. Progress tracking — your streak, your medals and your practice history — starts with the account. There is no paid tier and no credit card.
Do I have to download an app?
No. SpeakUp Coach runs in your browser on any phone, tablet, or computer with a microphone. There is nothing to install and no App Store listing — speakupcoach.com is the entire product.
Is my recording saved?
No — your recording is sent for transcription and then discarded, and the audio is never written to our database. We do not keep the full transcript either. What we do keep is your feedback, and that feedback quotes short phrases from what you said: it is saved to your profile if you have an account, and on our server with no name or email attached if you do not. If you later create an account in the same browser, the practice you already did is attached to it. Transcription and analysis happen on a server, so an internet connection is required.
What does SpeakUp Coach actually measure?
Words per minute, filler-word count, pause patterns, vocal variety, and volume control — whether your sentences hold their energy to the last word — taken directly from your audio. An AI layer then scores Content & Relevance, Structure & Organization, and Engagement & Confidence on a 1/3/5 rubric, citing evidence from your transcript.
Can I practice in Spanish?
Yes. SpeakUp Coach is bilingual — Spanish interface, Spanish prompts, and Spanish AI feedback, including detection of muletillas like "eh," "este," "pues," "o sea," "tipo," and "así." This is native Spanish support, not a translation of an English-only product.
